About Us

A family owned and operated company since 1986

Mr. and Mrs. Nix, founders of GT Nix Construction, had always dreamed of owning their own business. After years of experience in superintending projects for other companies & while on the Intermountain Power Project in Delta, Utah, he decided to go into debt and purchase his first piece of equipment. He started with a John Deere 302a landscape tractor.

Shortly after, he decided to move his family and company to Mountain View, WY, where GT Nix Construction continues to grow and expand their services.

Jaces' father has earned several top honors at equipment rodeos, including First Place two years in a row in Reno, Nevada and top honors in Salt Lake City, Utah. He also serves on the Bridger Valley Electric Associations Board of Directors, the Wyoming Rural Electric Association Board of Directors and several other boards involving the day to day opperations of Electric Co-ops.

In 1994 Mr. Nix was awarded the Citizen of the Year Award by the city of Mountain View, and in 1998 he was awarded the Wyoming Small Business Person of the Year Award, by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

In 1982 Jace Nix was born and started learning the business at an early age. Jace continues to work in the family business.

Jace has followed in his father's foot steps and in 2011 competed in the Case Triple Threat Rodeo in Salt Lake City and won first place in both the wheel loader and backhoe competition and fifth place on the skid steer. This giving him best all around, that sent him on to the North American Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he competed with the top operators from the US and Canada. Jace has, in recent years, placed in top spots in smaller equipment rodeos on both the excavator and wheel loader.

By maintaining the company as a family owned and operated business, we believe it has allowed our company to excel by keeping the pride and integrity in our work. It has also allowed us to stay competitive with larger companies through the tough economic times.
